Leading Architectural Technology practice wins Alan King Award
A leading Architectural Technology practice, based in London, was named the winner of the Alan King Award 2013 by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.
Studio Kyson’s winning project, 5 Montpelier Terrace, is an exemplary example of a conversion. The project comprised the remodelling of a Georgian cottage into an environmentally conscious family dwelling. Situated in Knightsbridge, the innovative design solution by Scott Kyson, Chartered Architectural Technologist, provided an interior that is naturally well-lit and is at the forefront of Architectural Technology.
Scott Kyson MCIAT of Studio Kyson said: ‘It is an honour to win the Alan King Award and the installation of the Institute’s Award plaque in the heart of Knightsbridge is a great achievement and one that I feel very proud of.’
Highly Commended was awarded to Phillip Hapka MCIAT of James Denholm Partnership for conversion of a barn into a family home in a rural part of Perthshire. The solution was impressive with good use of locally sourced materials throughout the building.
