Project: Sesame Apartments
Location: Battersea
Specifier: Tollgard Design Group
Contractor: Thornsnett Group
Project completion:2014
Sesame Apartments are an exciting new development in heart of Battersea with views over the River Thames. Comprising 80 apartments in total, the project combines innovative design with luxurious fittings, in a great London location.
In addition to style, Sesame Apartments meets the Code for Sustainable Homes, including a green roof, low energy rated appliances, high levels of insulation and water saving. Furnishing Sesame’s many bathrooms are a range of Roca products – from basins and baths to shower trays and accessories, combing a high-end and modern aesthetic with water saving credentials.
“Roca’s products fitted in with the overall aesthetic of the apartments,” said Ron Sparkes, from Thornsnett. “The quality and variety available is perfect for a scheme like this – we had a lot of apartments to furnish and the end customer will be expecting nothing but the best.”
Each bathroom features a range of Roca products, including wall-hung Cala basins, featuring oak under-sink units, Gap baths, Next shower heads and accompanying shower trays, enclosures and/or bathscreens plus taps, flush plates and accessories. The stylish yet simple look fits with the overall minimalist bathroom scheme which includes neutral contemporary floor to ceiling porcelain tiles and chrome fittings throughout.
With water saving a key element to meeting the Code for Sustainable Homes, Roca’s Thesis taps were chosen which feature an ‘Eco Disc’ cartridge that provides resistance at 50% of the water flow, encouraging end users to think before they turn the tap onto full. The cartridge also has a temperature limiter, set when installing the tap, to eliminate the risk of scalding.
A large project, demanding nothing but the best in terms of style and functionality, Sesame Apartments demonstrates how Roca’s design approach and quality meets the exacting standards of modern (and sustainable) developments.
