Addagrip approved contractor Soft Surfaces Ltd, was invited back to Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield ground in July 2017 to carry out an installation of BBA approved resin bound surfacing for the Club’s brand new flagship Retail Store, due to open at the start of the season.
The store will offer fans a brand new shopping experience with exclusive product ranges, a specially-designed first-floor cafe and an increased number of payment stations to ease checkout congestion on match days.
As part of the landscaped pedestrian area at the front of the new store, a robust, low maintenance, porous paving was required. Just under 4000m2 of Addagrip’s resin bound porous surfacing was selected in a range of colours to complement the design and to match the Terrabound Resin Bound surfacing previously installed at Liverpool Football Club’s newly expanded Main Stand in 2016.
Working with main contractor Hawkspear Contracts Ltd, the Soft Surfaces team installed Addagrip’s BBA approved Terrabound Resin Bound porous paving in blends of 6mm Rhine Gold and 6mm Tuscan Pebble which is contrasted with BBA approved Addaset Resin bound surfacing in a 6mm Lucerne Silver. There were also a number of new trees in the scheme which required 244m2 of silver tree pits using Addastone TP in a Silver Grey Granite 6-10mm aggregate. The tree pit surfacing was installed at a depth of 75mm due to the expected levels of foot traffic and the tree collars backfilled with loosed aggregate to accommodate growth.
The installation was completed in time for the official opening of the new retail store on Monday 14th August 2017 and the team’s first home game of the 2017/2018 season.
